City government is where important issues like public safety budgets, road repairs, and park funding get decided. But while we're awash in national news, local government news can be surprisingly hard to find. This disconnect has gotten worse as local journalism has collapsed.

City Desk is an experiment to help address this problem. We're starting with making city councils more accessible. We monitor public city council video feeds, use AI to generate engaging reports when new meeting videos are published, and email them to subscribers.
